The “Sisters of Freedom” is an exhibit of classic and modern poster-art paying homage to African-American women who have transformed their lives, their culture and their country. These phenomenal women--activists, entertainers, teachers and preacher--represent some of the most indomitable figures from the 1800s to the present. The exhibit in its entirety highlights the work of 41 women leaders (as well as 33 Freedom Riders) who have changed the course of history with their commitment to, and passion for, social justice and racial equity.
