Each class in this series will build on the skills covered in the previous classes so attendance at all five is strongly recommended. Class 5 will be an open lab to come in and work on the website you have developed and get additional assistance for any areas you found tricky during the class. These numbers will continue to climb, as we moved the final 22 public computers to the CTC in early January, bringing us up to 94 total. Later this year we will be adding even more computers, and filling out our two computer training classrooms, thanks to participation in the Broadband Technology Opportunities Program. Each step brings the CTC closer to the vision of a full Community Technology Center. If you haven't already, stop by and check us out.

The Community Technology Center is offering several eMedia classes in January that will teach you things like how to download library eBooks to your new Nook or to access eMedia from your Droid! With upgrades to the library's services and temporary changes, there is no better time to take the plunge! Once you learn how to put eMedia on your portable devices, you will be able to check out library books from the comfort of your own home without packing up your kids or finding a parking place! Sound good? Bring your device -- eReader, MP3 player, iPhone, Android, laptop, etc.

DPL has new hours, and the Central Library will be open from 1 - 5 p.m. this Saturday; but there will still be a lot going on at the Community Technology Center!  

MS WORD 2007 PART I: 2 - 4 p.m.

If you haven't been to the Central Library's fourth level in the last week or so, come up and check out the ever-expanding Community Technology Center -- we've grown again!  On Wednesday thirty more public computers, complete with Internet access and Microsoft Office 2007, were booted up and made ready for public use.  We now have 20 computers for 2-hour sessions; 24 computers for 1-hour sessions; and 8 computers for 30-minute sessions.  It will be a while before our classrooms are available for group lessons again, but we are still offering

We're starting relatively small with only 22 computers available at open today, but will be gradually adding public access computers, and will have nearly 100 available by the end of the year. All of these computers offer Office 2007 software as well as Internet access. Also coming soon are:
