A big THANK YOU to everyone who joined us for our 2nd annual Novel Night on Friday at the new Sam Gary Branch!
A wonderful time was had by all, hundreds of crafts were created from recycled books, amazing desserts by Monica Kadillak were consumed, books were donated (and traded), prizes were won, and, most importantly, Fresh City Life My Branch programming at the Denver Public Library was supported! Special thanks to these sponsors:
Monica Kadillak, for her wonderful desserts--look for more cooking classes with Monica in the months to come!

What does your $25 Novel Night ticket get you? A fun-filled evening of crafts made from recycled books, light dinner fare, and special desserts provided by popular cooking teacher Monica Kadillak! We'll also be running a book swap with some choice titles--bring two, take one! Leftovers will be donated to good causes! Additionally, your ticket will enter you into prize drawings for gift cards and other treats all evening long.
February may be the shortest month, but Fresh City Life My Branch still has lots of programs for you to choose from. See the complete schedule here.
Intrigued by thrift store shopping and saving, but don't know where to start? Michelle from Shop My Closet will get you started! Learn how to incorporate thrift stores into your regular shopping rotation, and even get to try out your skills! Saturday, February 2, 1-3 p.m. at the Ross-Broadway Branch Library.
If you came to our first Novel Night last year, you know how much fun it was! This year promises to be even better, with plenty of space at DPL's new Sam Gary Branch Library, fun crafts made from recycled books, and special desserts made by our favorite cooking teacher, Monica Kadillak!
If you've resolved to cook more interesting meals, you've come to the right place! On Saturday, January 12 at 2 p.m. at the Smiley Branch, join Monica Kadillak for Great Finds at International Markets. Denver has many specialty markets to help you explore international cuisine! You'll learn where to go, what to look for, and of course, what to do with those new ingredients when you get home! Recipes and samples included.
Thanks to everyone who attended, staffed, and volunteered at our first annual Novel Night (2012)! We were overwhelmed with the positive responses, and are already starting to plan for 2013!
From feasting on food donated by Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant to making over a dozen crafts with recycled books, Novel Night was lively and fun-filled--a great time was had by all! Many thanks to our sponsors: Rio Grande, King Soopers, Starbucks, Parisi, Ingram, Midwest Tape, Ceylon Pearl Tea, Tattered Cover, MoonDance Botanicals, HarperCollins, the DPL Friends Foundation, and Old Navy!
