“The Voyages of Our German Ancestors”

Germans began immigrating to America in 1683, according to documented history.  This talk will highlight significant aspects of the first four major waves of migration, through 1910. The areas from which they came and motivations that typified each wave will be detailed.  Available immigration and emigration records help tell the immigrants’ story.  Laws changed over time and influenced various aspects of the immigration experience.

“Research Resources for German Genealogists in the Denver Public Library”

James Jeffrey, Genealogy Specialist at the Denver Public Library, will detail the extensive resources for German genealogy researchers available in the Fifth Floor Genealogy Department.
