Event Details
Denver Museum of Nature & Science is famous for its beautiful dioramas of wildlife and natural habitats. You've seen these scenes before, but have you really SEEN them? In this series for folks age 50+, join a DMNS scientist for a guided gaze at the Museum's beloved dioramas. This month's topic is, "Giant Birds with ornithologist Garth Spellman." Seated together, we’ll look with fresh eyes to explore hidden details, ask questions, learn the real story behind what we see, and discover the art and science of the wildlife dioramas.
In this series, we will explore three separate dioramas. Come to one session ... or come to all three! Connect with others as you apply what you've learned to each new diorama we examine.
Sessions will take place on:
-
September 13: Giant Birds with ornithologist Garth Spellman, Register below
-
October 11 : Animal Interactions with animal ecologist Andy Doll, Click here to register
- November 8: TBD Click here to register
For each session, you will receive a general admission ticket to the Museum, good for the whole day. Registration is required for each individual session that you'd like to attend. Once you’ve registered, you will receive an email letting you know additional details, including where to meet in the Museum. Space is limited. Please let us know if you cannot make a session so that we can give your spot to someone else.
Seating will open at 2:00 p.m.. The program will start at 2:30 p.m. and end at 3:30 p.m. Free parking is available in the Museum parking lot.
