Event Details

Having trouble winning at Mario Kart, or your character in Animal Crossing has a mind of its own? You probably are experiencing stick drift. That's when those little joysticks become worn from all those amazing adventures you've been having on your Switch.

We invite you to join the Sam Gary Teen advisory board with the ideaLAB team's assistance to help keep your Nintendo Switch in perfect working order with our hands-on Joy-Con repair pop-up! Please bring your drifting Joy-Con device and Switch console to calibrate the joystick following the repair. We'll provide a replacement Hall-effect joystick that not only fixes drift, it prevents it from happening ever again.

This event is now a pop-up during ideaLAB open lab hours. Registration is no longer required, but participants must complete the Technology Release Waiver. Drop in anytime from 3:30-5:30 pm, but give yourself enough time to make the repairs!

Note: This event is exclusively for teens (age 13-17). Due to the technical nature of the repair, we can't welcome younger participants at this time.
