Director Agnès Varda shows us Paris through her unique lens. Though her New Wave compatriots were making amazing films, Varda creates films in which each frame is so beautifully composed, it is like viewing a moving postcard. No moment is wasted in this film that captures a tense and life-changing two hours in the life of a young, self-absorbed Parisienne. Film Critic Walter Chaw will take us through Varda’s brilliant vision and discuss all aspects of this masterpiece. This film is free to watch on the streaming service Kanopy which you can subscribe to using your library card. Not a Kanopy member yet? Grab your library card and get started here.

If you would like to attend this film discussion online, please register here for the event and your login and password will be sent to you prior the day before the event. Upcoming Saturday Matinee events include The Hitch-Hiker, 1953 (June 20), Hana-Bi, 1997 (June 27) and 8 ½, (1963).
