Today more than ever, Americans are being asked to revisit historical injustices. One of the lesser known injustices in American history is the forced assimilation of Native American children through U.S. government schools. In this presentation and conversation, anthropologists Lindsay Montgomery and Chip Colwell share their research into Native American education through a unique collection of artifacts and photographs at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. This is a story about how the US government sought to destroy Native American culture and how Indigenous peoples endured in the face of oppression.
