Program Description

Event Details

Using ink, watercolors, graphite, and various types of paper, participants will use creative expression exercises to create a one-of-a-kind book. Spontaneous drawings and mark making often lead to images and stories we didn’t know were there. Come with a playful attitude. No experience needed. All are welcome. 

This is a 6 week long series at Hirschfeld Towers. 333 W Ellsworth Ave, Denver, CO 80223

 

Classes will take place on:

September 5, 12, 19, 26

About your instructor

Jo Fitsell has taught art and developed integrated art curriculum for all ages, from preschool to high school students and their teachers.  

She has worked for Think 360, Denver Public Schools, the Art Students League, Art Street, Denver Public Library’s Plaza Program and the Denver Women’s Correction Facility. Her art has been exhibited nationally and internationally and can be found in medical offices, public buildings and homes in Colorado. Rewarding collaborations with young people have included installations in schools, offices, theatre performances, and hospitals.

She is one of the founders of the vital and exciting organization, Front Range Contemporary Quilters. Interweave Press has published her DVD on Surface Design. Jo contributed to The Denver Art Museum’ Thread Studio exhibit.
