Kwanzaa is a celebration that honors the African first fruit harvest tradition. The third day of Kwanzaa highlights the principle of Ujima (Collective Work and Responsibility). This program will feature the Friends of Joda who will welcome us into the space and provide an introduction to Kwanzaa.
Visit https://www.denverlibrary.org/celebratekwanzaa for the full list of DPL Kwanzaa events.
The Friends of Joda collective is a tribute to the memory of the late, great Baba Adejunti Joda. The dances and drumming performed reflect the language and culture of the Yoruba people from the West African nation of Nigeria.
