The staff at the Ross Broadway Branch Library are fortunate to be able to visit the La Familia Recreation Center every 3 weeks. Working with the My Denver Card Staff, we merge My Denver Cards with Library cards, bring books for children and adults to check out and just get to know people in the community.
La Familia is close enough that we get to walk through the Baker neighborhood with our little blue "Book Wagon," stopping and chatting with old and new friends. It's a great experience for the kids and library staff to see each other out of our element. It's also an opportunity to get to know the kids individually, which can be difficult on hectic days in the library.
