ideaLAB: Adult Swim

Introducing ideaLAB: adult swim!

Starting September 2, we’ll be kicking the kids out of the pool on Tuesday nights, and will be welcoming adults for the first time into our digital media open lab.

The lab is staffed and set up so you can start creating stuff in one or any of six program tracks: music, web design, art & design, game design, video, and electronics.

So come hang out, sign up to use our 3D printers or our recording studio, learn to program an Arduino, and learn to make some cool stuff.

Learn to Code Meetup in ideaLAB

Want to learn or improve your HTML and CSS? JavaScript? Ruby? So do we!

Beginning this Monday (August 4), ideaLAB will offer its first ever adult event: a weekly Learn to Code Meetup! We encourage anyone, at any level, with an interest in programming to come hang out and work on projects. Staff will be on hand to answer questions, but our hope is that everyone will participate in problem solving challenges and group projects.

Here are the details:

Join Our Toy Hack at the Denver Mini Maker Faire!

Please join us this May 3rd and 4th, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the National Western Complex for the first-ever Denver Mini Maker Faire! Denver Public Library will be in booth 815, hosting a toy hack - Arc Thrift Stores of Colorado has generously donated a mountain of broken toys, and we're inviting you to make something new and exciting out of them to take home (see what our teens made at our last toy hack here)!

Crochet Installation Continues to Grow: Make Your Mark

Add your own tapestry crochet potholder to our growing installation and become a part of this community event. Free materials are available for this project.

Fresh City Life hosted our makers' event this past Saturday -- an all day workshop that helped to grow our collection of tapestry crochet potholders. They have begun to take over a wall in the Fresh City Lounge and we'll just let it keep growing throughout the year as crocheters add to this fun art piece.
