This month: Popeye (1980)

In search of his long-lost father, wandering sailor Popeye arrives at the cliffside coastal village of Sweethaven. Where he falls for the wide-eyed Olive Oyl and, before long, an abandoned infant in a basket they agree to name Swee'Pea. Popeye quickly takes a liking to their newfound trio, giving him the hope that he's finally gained the family he's always desired. Only problem is, Olive Oyl is already engaged to Sweethaven's biggest bully, Bluto. Whom, when learns of Popeye's romantic aspirations towards Olive Oyl, he kidnaps both her and Swee'Pea and heads for the high seas. How far will Popeye go to save his makeshift family? Join us Saturday, July 27th to find out, in this oddball odyssey for the ages.

A tribute and testament to the work of Shelley Duvall, in the role Roger Ebert swore she was "born to play."
