Memory Cafe is a fun place to socialize, relax, and engage with people experiencing memory loss and their families/caregivers. Each cafe has a focus—such as music or art—to facilitate the main goal, which is a social connection for individuals with shared experiences. At the Memory Cafe, you can just be yourself -- without worrying about remembering or forgetting.
Theme: Music Therapy with Meridith Lager
Description: Come engage in community and connection, as you tap into your creative spirit through singing, moving to music, and playing hand-held percussion instruments. No experience required!
Bio: Meridith Lager is a board-certified music therapist, whose private practice, Red Guitar Music Therapy, has been serving Denver's older adult community for over 20 years. Using guitar and voice, Meridith designs engaging and meaningful music experiences for older adults, that encourages creativity and connection to help foster a sense of community as well as contribute to participants' overall health and wellness. Meridith lives in Lakewood with her husband and teenage son and enjoys art, skiing, travel, and daily walks with their little dog, Dashi.
